Key was set up by Tony Newham in late 2007, after a career of 28 years with HSBC Bank. Having passed professional exams and completed many years of “basic training”, Tony undertook his first of four branch manager roles for the Bank from 1989. Thereafter he worked for 15 years as a specialist commercial manager at several locations across the North of England. Tony became Head of Commercial Banking at Huddersfield Commercial Centre, leading a team of 10 managers plus support staff responsible for developing and managing business and corporate relationships with a turnover of between £1m and £25m, and debt to £20m. Tony also had responsibility for approving commercial credit lines to £2m during this time. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, and a member of the Yorkshire Regional Committee of the Institute of Financial Services. He foundedKey in 2007.
